Roy MacKinnon began his financial services career in 1990 as a Senior Manager with First Entertainment Credit Union after 11 years as a co-owner of three successful retail businesses in Malibu, California.
Over the past 24 years, he has helped his credit union grow from $73m to more than $1.1 billion in assets through his direction and management of several areas including Marketing, Branch Operations, Lending, Business Development and Executive Services. Roy’s work has been nationally recognized, receiving more than 220 various awards for marketing excellence. He serves on his credit union’s ALM Committee and is responsible for deposit pricing and growth, loan and membership growth.
In addition to volunteering on various industry committees including work on a co-operative advertising campaign for HR 1151, Roy has been a past Board member for a $150m credit union as well as the former Chairman of the Board for a credit union at which he was member number 816.
He is a Charter member of the CUNA Marketing Business Development Council and a member of the Credit Union Executives Society (CUES) as well as a former member of the Marketing Association for Credit Unions (MAC). Roy has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Pepperdine and is a Stanford University Executive Development graduate. In 2006, he completed the three-year CUES CEO Institute, earning the CUES CCE designation.
