Burks Appointed to CUES® Board of Directors

MADISON, Wis.—Gerrianne D. Burks, CCE, president/CEO of Northwest Federal Credit Union, Herndon, Va., recently accepted an appointment to the Credit Union Executives Society’s board of directors. Burks’ addition to the board fills the unexpired term of former director Carol A. Humenick, CCE, SVP/community and government affairs, Citadel Federal Credit Union, Thorndale, Pa., who in May resigned due to personal reasons. Humenick will, however, serve as an ad hoc director for the CUES board until its November 2011 annual meeting.

Burks, a graduate of CUES’ CEO Institute, has more than 39 years of leadership responsibilities and is an accomplished strategist. She began in the industry as a teller and quickly moved through the management ranks, holding positions which included human resources manager, deputy for member branches, VP/member services and EVP/COO. In 2008, Burks was selected to serve as president/CEO of Northwest Federal Credit Union.

A CUES member since 1997, Burks also serves on the board of Northwest Financial, LLC; Northwest Financial Group, LLC; Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation and Potomac Business Services. In addition, she is chairman of the Virginia Credit Union League Foundation.
