GLENDORA, CA— Dawn Moore, Branch Manager at America’s Christian Credit Union was recently the focus of an upcoming CNN interview for nontraditional students finding success through online degree programs. The interview is set to air on February 6, 2012, 8am (PST) on Newsroom with Suzanne Malveaux.
CNN learned of Dawn’s story from the administration at Western Governors University, where Dawn recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management. Upon receiving her degree, Dawn was promoted to her current position at ACCU, and news of this success led to the CNN interview opportunity. The feature will include a discussion of her studies, program, and personal struggles – Dawn’s battle with breast cancer prompted her return to school, and during her studies she also developed colon cancer, currently also in remission. The interview took place at the corporate headquarters of the credit union and included footage of Dawn on the job. The news network also interviewed Dan Colasanti, Assistant Branch Manager, who is currently pursuing his degree with Western Governors University.
“Our board and leadership team place a high value on academic achievement within our staff, and the personal obstacles that Dawn overcame in the process were simply extraordinary. We are very proud of her and look forward to seeing the interview on CNN,” President/CEO Mendell L. Thompson said.
