WASHINGTON – Debra Schwartz, president and CEO of Mission Federal Credit Union, has been named an at-large director to the National Association of Federal Credit Union’s (NAFCU) board of directors. Schwartz replaces outgoing board member Shelley Clarke, who stepped down when she retired as president and CEO of Goldenwest Federal Credit Union in Ogden, Utah. In accordance with NAFCU’s bylaws, Schwartz may serve in her appointed capacity until the association’s next annual business meeting in 2012.
In announcing Schwartz’s appointment, NAFCU Chairman Mike Lussier, president and CEO of Webster First Federal Credit Union, said, “We are delighted to have an industry leader of Debra’s exceptional level on the NAFCU board. Debra brings a unique combination of credit union and business experience, and we look forward to her insight.”
Schwartz has been president and CEO of Mission FCU since 2009. She served as executive vice president and interim CEO since 2008 and has been with Mission FCU since 2007. She is a seasoned credit union executive with more than 25 years of financial services leadership experience.

Prior to joining Mission Federal, Schwartz served in senior executive positions as chief financial officer at First Future Credit Union, and as eExecutive vice president at San Diego County Credit Union, both San Diego‐based institutions.
Schwartz holds a Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, in economics and marketing from the State University of New York, and a Master in Business Administration in finance and business law from the University of Southern California.
