WASHINGTON – NAFCU President Fred Becker said today that NAFCU Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications Jay Morris will be stepping down this fall after 11 years of service to the association.

Morris, a 30-year veteran of Washington, D.C., trade association work, said he plans to explore other career opportunities and perhaps begin his own PR consulting firm later this year.

“During his tenure at NAFCU, Jay has played a key role in improving our electronic and print publications, expanding our press relations and fine-tuning our marketing programs,” said NAFCU President Fred Becker.

Added Becker, “Under his direction, NAFCU created the highly rated NAFCU Today e-mail news service, significantly expanded news and coverage of NAFCU—both in the trade and national media—and helped build a world-class marketing and communications team. We wish him all the best as he pursues new opportunities.”

NAFCU is the only national organization that focuses exclusively on federal issues affecting credit unions, representing its members before the federal government and the public.

That's true, it might be a useful feature, but I think it depends what you want the client for. If your intention is to make youself available to others then yes, push notifications would be a welcome addition. However if you want to use it so you can see the presence of or contact others it's probably not as useful. Good point though!

Until it supports push notifications/alerts like many iPhone apps do like Facebook, this has very limited usability. The app MUST be running in the foreground to let you know you received an IM.They (iDialog) need to build a back-end server farm that takes your login info and establishes a connection to the end-user's OCS CWA server from their servers. Then when you get an IM, they should send a push notification / alert (little blue pop-up on the iphone with a preview of the message) and give you the choice to launch the app or ignore it like MANY other iPhone apps do.

I must congratulate the ecexllent captains on the Andiamo. Funny we ended up with two captains even with the same name (2 Phil's one from South Africa and one from Australia!!). Somehow they were able to figure out their accents and actually could communicate with each other quite well .. . No money can pay them, they are true gems both of them. We enjoyed their company and the all out captain-ing they put in to our 6 sailing days in San Blas, the cooking, the cooperation with everything was beyond the call of duty. BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO.Especially to you Phillip Morris, whenever I am a rich man with my own yacht, you are my chosen one as captain!! Good luck in all your endeavors and look us up when in Toronto!
