Madison, Wis. – For the fifth year in a row the CUNA HR/TD Council’s annual conference has been approved as an event that will provide attendees with SHRM recertification credits.  The April 10 – 13 national conference takes place at the Hyatt Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco.  The conference includes breakout sessions, learning labs and workshops that cover a wide range of HR and training topics, including:

  • leadership development
  • healthcare reform
  • building strong teams
  • employment laws
  • staff development
  • employee engagement
  • presentation skills
  • leading change
  • employee evaluations
  • emotional intelligence
  • social media as a recruitment tool
  • defining, driving and molding culture

Last year, 100% of conference attendees that provided feedback said they would recommend this conference to others!  Space is limited so register now if you plan to attend.

Attendees at the conference can earn hours up to 18 hours toward their PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through HCRI (Human Resource Certification Institute). Certification credits are offered to attendees of the pre-conference workshop and to those attending general sessions and breakouts.

In addition to the SHRM recertification credit and timely content, recipients of the first ever CUNA HR/TD Council Excellence Awards will be recognized at the conference.

Attendees at the conference can earn up to 15 recertification hours toward their PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through HCRI (Human Resource Certification Institute). 3 certification credits are offered to attendees of the pre-conference workshop and 12 to those attending general sessions and breakouts.

If you are certified, you will need 20 hours every 2 years. If you are just licensed, you don’t need any.Pharmacists need to get CEs, and many other health professionals.

To be able to renew your PTCB Licensure, and most State Licensures, you need to have a certain amount of CE Credits. Those credits will need to be in something related to medicine, such as pain management, HIV/AIDS, etc. There are several free sites you can use to get these credits. Check with the PTCB web site to make sure exactly how many you will need. Then you can google “Free Pharmacy Continuing Education” and have fun! Most of the stuff you probably already know, but it’s just to satisfy the red tape at the PTCB.Good Luck!

Great post. Your use of the cola/wine analogy is roinic in that the online Learning group we founded five years ago, eLATED, considered similar issues. After looking at other suitable groups which we could model ourselves, it was decided to conceive ourselves as an alternative Uncola' of training organizations, to facilitate more regular informal learning that often occurs between seminars at conferences. While it was originally borne out of a need to address a technical eLearning issue, it has evolved into an bimonthly, no-charge (vendor-sponsored) physical network of learning professionals, where attendees have the opportunity to learn about leading edge topics from a trusted community.I wholeheartedly agree that attendees want to engage with the speaker, each other and the content', which is why our events are two-part: a formal presentation of only an hour by the sponsoring vendor, followed by an eLIXIR', where attendees can discuss the topic and other matters at the end of the day over a drink provided by the sponsor. Some of the recent matters discussions surrounding the economy has been sobering, despite our meetings being held at a downtown Toronto restaurant .The issues noted with “call for proposals” is a cogent point. Our members have only the expectation of a regularly scheduled event, within the framework of eLearning & Social Media. They know that sponsor and specific topic will only be confirmed and announced a few weeks before each event, but expect that the final product will be fresh, low-cost and relevant to their interests. Our model isn't perfect, but we constantly strive to adapt and innovate, while keeping an open ear out to the needs of our community.(Twitter ID: @elatedca )
