Madison, Wis. -- Affinity Plus FCU, Travis CU and Envision CU were honored as winners of the 2010 CUNA Technology Council Best Practices Awards at the Council’s 15th Annual Conference, which took place September 29-October 2 in Las Vegas.

The CUNA Technology Council award recognizes outstanding approaches to technology challenges with potential for universal application across the credit union movement in four major categories.

  • In the information security/privacy category, the award went to Affinity Plus FCU in Saint Paul, Minn., for their automated SAFE (System Access for Employees) process, which reduced the SAFE process time to completion from days to hours.
  • In the member service/convenience category, Travis CU in Vacaville, Calif., won for their integration of a complete application foundation for the CU meeting the needs of each business area. This included leveraging Oracle’s Fusion Middleware in the areas of data warehouse and business intelligence, enterprise content management and business process management.
  • In the miscellaneous category, an award went to Envision CU in Tallahassee, Fla., for developing tools to supplement customizable software applications’ base functionality for the CU’s specific needs.
  • Finally, another award in the miscellaneous category went to Affinity Plus FCU for their automated in-house statement solution, which automated the deployment of all statement and notice files from one system to another to printing.

A panel comprised of CUNA Technology Council members selected the winners, based on strategy, process, application, and results, without regard to credit union asset size.

Reward credit cards reward you depending on the amount you spend on the credit card. Usually, you can collect rewards through 3 methods. One method involves earning cash back on the card, which is generally a certain percentage of each amount you spend. The next method involves giving points or any other type of token to the customers to accrue. They can then redeem these points for gifts like luggage, cosmetics and other goodies that the credit card company offers. Most of these reward schemes have alluring gifts and huge variety of selections. But the better option is to go for a cash back reward as it allows you to use the money any way you like.

We need a change. These present numb skulls including Diane Watts are just too comfortable and have begun to care corporate and lining their pockets. While they go laughing to the bank end of each pay cheque they make us tighten our pockets and levy further taxes. The Trans-link forceful levy and the 2 cent gas tax is a joke. While we pay these jokers in office burden us with their transport expenses. The long timers warming our city hall chairs are too complacent and have become as dumb as the City Hall door knob. Linda, Marvin,Barbara, Mary,Tom and Barinder have become totally useless to our needs. They seem to have the media support on front pages to etch onto peoples minds to influence voters votes. The community papers The Now and The Leader are also culprits to influence results.Hope to see the change and have new Candidates as Stephanie and Paul Hillsdon and younger blood.Cheers and good luck.

It is a great idea. In Westport they shred the old trees and they are used as mulch for council areas and pnitnalg projects.A great public service. i remember when you would find Christmas trees dumped everywhere after Christmas!
