Inaugural Credit Union Cyber Security Symposium to conclude today

ARLINGTON, VA (November 14, 2014)  The two-day inaugural Credit Union Cyber Security Symposium, hosted by NASCUS in partnership with Credit Union National Association and emceed by Tom Schauer, CEO of IT security firm TrustCC, will conclude today.

The event, which is being held at the Hyatt Arlington in Arlington, Va., has drawn nearly 100 individuals, including executives from credit unions, state and federal regulatory agencies, trades and private sector security response firms, and members of the press.

Today’s speakers, including Schauer, the National Credit Union Administration’s Tim Segerson, LT Public Relations’ Casey Boggs, the state of Michigan’s John Kolhoff and CUNA Mutual’s Jay Isaacson, will be speaking on such topics as the national cyber security initiative, protecting the reputation of credit unions, vendors and disaster recovery.

“We expect to make this event an annual one and hope that it has been helpful in raising the awareness of cyber security throughout the credit union system,” said NASCUS President and CEO Lucy Ito.

The Twitter hashtag “#CUCyberSymposium” will be used again today for the symposium, which will adjourn at 3:45 p.m.
