Mountain America Credit Union donates more than $67,000 to charities
WEST JORDAN, UT (April 22, 2014) — With the amount of its donation growing all season as the Utah Jazz<http://www.utahjazz.com/> made hundreds of three-point shots, Mountain America Credit Union<https://www.macu.com/> assisted in wrapping up the Jazz home season by presenting $26,150 to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation<http://healthcare.utah.edu/huntsmancancerinstitute/giving/huntsman-cancer-foundation/> in support of the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Mountain America donated $50 for every three-point basket made by the Jazz during the 2013-14 season. Over the past decade, Mountain America has donated more than $155,000 to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.

Sterling Nielsen, president/CEO for Mountain America, presented the $26,150 check to Paul Huntsman, who represented the Huntsman family, during halftime of the Jazz home game against the Portland Trailblazers on April 11.
To supplement the three-point shot donation, Mountain America and the Utah Jazz have selected Huntsman Cancer Foundation as an additional recipient of “Pass It Along,” a new program featuring fan nomination opportunities for local charitable organizations. Mountain America presented $5,000 to bring the total contribution at the Portland game to $31,150. Through “Pass It Along,” $30,000 has been donated to six local charities during the 2013-14 season.
In addition to the Huntsman gift, Mountain America recently donated more than $36,000 to two additional charities—Susan G. Komen for the Cure<http://www.komenutah.org/> and Shriners Hospitals for Children<http://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/>. This money was raised by the credit union’s employees through candy sales, lunch fundraisers, an auction and other activities.
