MSUFCU announces 2015-2016 Board of Directors Executive Committee

EAST LANSING, MI (June 18, 2015) — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2015-2016 Board of Directors Executive Committee. Board executives include: William Beekman, Chairman; Angela Brown, Vice Chair; Gregory Deppong, Treasurer; and Ernest Betts, Secretary.

William Beekman is the Vice President and Secretary of Michigan State University’s (MSU) Board of Trustees. Mr. Beekman has served on the MSUFCU Board of Directors since June 2013. Prior to serving on the Board, he served on the MSUFCU Supervisory Committee. Mr. Beekman has also served as the assistant dean for finance and planning in the MSU College of Human Medicine and has taught in the MSU College of Law and the MSU College of Human Medicine.

Angela Brown, retired from MSU in 2013, was previously the Director of Auxiliary Resources. She has served on the MSUFCU Board of Directors since April 2007. Prior to joining the Board, she was a member of MSUFCU ‘s Supervisory Committee. Ms. Brown is the President of the MSU Retirees Association and a member of the East Lansing Zonta Club.

Gregory Deppong, CPA, is the Controller at MSU. He has over 22 years of accounting and financial management experience in public accounting and higher education. He has served on the Board since 2008. Prior to his time on the Board, he served as the chairman for the Supervisory Committee, and currently serves as the Board liaison to the Supervisory Committee. Mr. Deppong also serves as Treasurer of the Okemos Baseball Club and is actively involved in coaching community youth sports.

Ernest Betts, PhD, currently serves as the Assistant Dean of Multicultural Business Programs in MSU’s Eli Broad College of Business and Graduate School of Management, as well as a faculty member at Monterrey Tech in Monterrey, Mexico. A Credit Union member for over 35 years, Betts was previously a member of MSUFCU’s Supervisory Committee. Dr. Betts has conducted professional business seminars for companies such as Nestle USA, Proctor and Gamble, Eli Lilly, and Ford Motor. He has published several distinguished publications and is a member of the American Association of Counseling and Development and the National Association of Counselors/Deans/Administrators.
