WASHINGTON – Over 1,700 credit union professionals, exhibitors and guests from around the country meet at the National Association of Federal Credit Unions’ (NAFCU) 44th Annual Conference & Exhibition, June 28 – July 2, at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco.
“The fact that we have the largest gathering since 2007 is a testament to the value that credit union professionals find in NAFCU conferences,” said NAFCU President Fred Becker. “Ultimately, we are a member-driven organization and this affirms that our program offerings are exactly what our members are seeking.”
Highlights from the conference include:
- Gordon Bethune, architect of Continental Airlines’ astonishing financial turnaround, and Pat Williams, the Orlando Magic’s promotional and marketing wizard;
- five educational tracks, including Board & Supervisory Committee, Executive, Management & Operations, Regulatory & Finance, and Growth & Lending;
- insightful updates on the latest regulatory and legislative news from Washington; and
- NAFCU’s Defense Credit Union Summit, featuring keynote luncheon speaker Holly Petraeus of the Office of Servicemember Affairs for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Other highlights include the presentation of the 2011 NAFCU Annual Awards, recognizing outstanding credit unions and industry professionals. Winners will be feted during a ceremony and luncheon Thursday.
NAFCU is the only national organization of credit unions that focuses exclusively on federal issues affecting credit unions, representing its members before the federal government and the public.
