People’s Credit Union donates to habitat for humanity project

MIDDLETOWN, RI (November 5, 2014) — People’s Credit Union donated nearly $300 to Habitat for Humanity as a result of their employee dress down day, Casual for a Cause. Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-profit ecumenical housing organization that works in partnership with families in need to build or renovate decent affordable housing.

Presently, Habitat for Humanity is building a home in Bristol on Center Street. These donated funds will be used towards the completion of this project.

“We are excited to be building our first Habitat home in Bristol which is being built for a single mother from Warren and her two children. We will be building each Thursday, Friday and Saturday on the site, if you would like to get involved email us at habitatbuild@rwu.edu,” said Karen Vebber, People’s Credit Union & Vice Chairman for the Habitat for Humanity East Bay Rhode Island.
