People’s Credit Union sponsors Friends of Ballard Park’s Halloween Movie Night

Friends of Ballard Park provides FREE Halloween movie night!

MIDDLETOWN, RI (November 12, 2014) — People’s Credit Union was a proud sponsor of the Friends of Ballard Park Halloween Movie Night.  The free event was open to the community, took place on October 25th and featured two movie screenings. A children’s themed movie, Hocus Pocus, played at 6pm and a scary movie, Halloween, played at 8pm for the adults. Movies were played in the quarry meadow, which were voted for on the Friends of Ballard Park’s Facebook page.

Prior to the movies, a costume parade was held, with celebrity judges that included RI State Senate President, Teresa Pavia Week, Newport City Councilor, Kate Leonard, Mayor Winthrop, and People’s Credit Union, Newport Branch Manager, Marie Everett.

A total of 379 people attended the event, with 291 people attending Hocus Pocus and 88 more attending Halloween.

“We were really excited by the support we received for People’s Credit Union’s Halloween Movie Night from the sponsors to the companies and organizations that supplied prizes to all of the children who participated in the costume contest. The community support really made it a fun and memorable event for children. We hope it will be an event Friends of Ballard Park hosts for many years to come”, said Colleen McGrath, Friends of Ballard Park Executive Director.
