Sb1 Federal Credit Union appoints SportsRadio 94WIP’s Rhea Hughes as spokesperson

(October 31, 2013) — Sb1 Federal Credit Union has retained Rhea Hughes, SportsRadio 94WIP morning show personality, as the spokesperson for the credit union.

The partnership emanated when Robert C. Werner discussed his role as CEO of Sb1 Federal Credit Union with Hughes who mentioned that she has been a credit union member since the age of 11. Her knowledge of the benefits of banking with a credit union and her strong relationship with her loyal listeners led Werner to believe she would be a great fit as the spokesperson for the company.

“When I met with her she immediately started talking about the difference between banks and credit unions.  She is a great fit for Sb1.” said Werner.

Under his leadership, Werner and his team have implemented strategic marketing initiatives which include radio, print, and digital advertisements to create awareness and differentiate Sb1 from its competitors. Prior to implementing these strategies, the credit union created financing offers that appeal to the needs of its current members and the Philadelphia community.

Sb1 recently launched a 10-year Home Equity Loan as low as 3.49% Annual Percentage Rate (APR) as a great option for members to refinance their first mortgage and dropped fees on all of the Home Equity products if the member borrows $50,000 or more.  The credit union introduced a 1.95% Home-Equity Line-of-Credit which converts to prime after 12 months.  And it has also launched a limited time auto loan for new and used cars (up to 3 years old) for as low as 2.99% APR.

“This is a very exciting time for our credit union as we look for the first time to start telling the region about our great products and amazing service.  The roll out of the radio commercials is to begin the name recognition process – we will also be complementing the radio spots with product specific loan and deposit offers through newsprint.  Our hope is the radio creates interest and drives traffic to our website and our superior member services staff.” said Werner.

With Rhea Hughes as the spokesperson and the creation of enticing financing options, Sb1 is able to appeal to its members and potential members. Sb1 looks forward to these marketing initiatives positioning them to become a $1 billion member-centric financial services company.
