United Heritage Credit Union Employees Reflect on Inaugural Year of Service in Local Communities

AUSTIN, Texas (September 19, 2012) – When United Heritage Credit Union employees aren’t providing exceptional financial services to members, they are looking for ways to give back to the communities in which they live and work.  A group of employees from United Heritage Credit Union, known as Team United Heritage, has successfully completed its inaugural year of providing man-power and monetary support to organizations within their local communities.

Team United Heritage has donated a total of 749.5 hours of their free-time as well as $8,683 in much needed funds to 21 local charities and organizations throughout the Greater Austin and Tyler areas, since its beginning in July of 2011.  Team United Heritage is led by Patsy Hatfield, Vice President of Human Resources and Jenny Laudadio, Director of Marketing, who work with Team Coordinators to seek out organizations and events to volunteer time and/or raise funds throughout the year.  A few organizations and events in which Team United Heritage has participated include:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas School Supply Drive
  • Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County Build Day
  • Capital Area Food Bank
  • Bastrop Wildfire Disaster Recovery
  • CASA Superhero 5K
  • Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s
  • Susan G Komen Race for the Cure
  • Coats for Kids – Round Rock & Austin
  • Tyler Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon
  • And many more!

Team United Heritage raises funds in a variety of ways on their own and has also been supported by the United Heritage Charity Foundation, which has provided funding for a number of their events to further Team United Heritage’s support of these commendable organizations.

Patsy Hatfield explains, “Team United Heritage is a caring group of United Heritage Credit Union employees that volunteer their time to give back to the community.  Whether as an individual endeavor or a group activity, the goal is making a difference in our communities.”  Team United Heritage members participate in a range of activities, some of which include purchasing school supplies for children in need, collecting coats for children who might not have one, helping to build a home for a deserving family and providing meals to the hungry. Team United Heritage has thoroughly enjoyed its first year of service and looks forward to many more, while spreading the word that United Heritage Credit Union is about a lot more than high interest free checking accounts, low-rate loans and financial piece of mind.
