10 important skills to lead you to success

I know I’m preaching to the choir when I say being a successful leader requires many different competencies and skills.

To prove which competencies and skills are most important, a couple of leadership development consultants asked more than 330,000 bosses, peers and subordinates to rank the top four competencies from a list of 16 key leadership skills. After working through the results, the consultants, Jack Zenger and Joseph Folkman, came up with a list of 10 leadership skills that are the most important for success.

Inc.com’s Peter Economy lists these 10 leadership skills in one of his columns. I’ve been following Peter’s posts for quite some time and have found him to be authoritative and informative. If you don’t know Peter, he’s a terrific columnist on leadership and management (The Leadership Guy).
