2017 GAC: Powell keynote, 2017 outlook sessions Tuesday

Following the first full day of 2017’s CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference, Tuesday’s events include a keynote speech from a former Secretary of State, as well as another slate of breakout sessions. A complete list of speakers and sessions can be found at cuna.org/gac.

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell will give a keynote address Tuesday morning, discussing his nearly 6 decades of public service, as well as themes such as leadership, confidence and American optimism.

Breakout sessions Tuesday include:

  • Expect the Unexpected: Washington Under President Trump. Panelists will provide their perspective on the first 2 months of the Trump administration and the Republican-controlled Congress. The panelists will offer bipartisan views on the outlook for the 115th Congress and what credit unions can expect;
  • What Do Consumers Actually Know about Credit Unions? The Credit Union Awareness Initiative, featuring up-to-the-second consumer research on what consumers know and don’t know about credit unions, the latest trends in consumer preferences for financial services and how a group of credit union leaders is working to leverage this information to create top-of-mind consumer awareness;
