3 New Year’s resolutions for your business life

The holidays have come and gone and once again a new year begins. It’s hard to believe 2017 is here but with it comes the opportunity for improvement and change. Here are three New Year’s resolutions to consider for your business life.

Be more receptive to constructive criticism: Part of learning and growing is accepting when others provide you with useful critiques. It can be difficult to humble yourself and admit changes are necessary but if you can take in new ideas, criticisms can be positive opportunities for professional development.

Attend networking events: We all use a variety of social media to interact digitally with our peers. It is very important to keep an online presence to stay connected, but don’t forget the value in meeting other professionals face-to-face. Networking events in your area are excellent opportunities for you to get yourself out there and make a real impression. Click here for tips for networking successfully.

Challenge yourself: It can be easy to get into a groove at work and maintain a level of comfort in your given role, but don’t underestimate yourself. When you are challenged, you will inevitably get a feeling of accomplishment and pride in your abilities. Keep pushing yourself and don’t get stuck where it’s safe. Your willingness to take risks will be noticed by your supervisors.
