3 reasons to use LinkedIn Talent Solutions at your credit union

LinkedIn profiles for businesses are free for basic use, easy to set up, and a must-have for any organization, but if you are not making good use of LinkedIn Talent Solutions as well, you could be missing out on heavy traffic. Think Marketing 101—know your audience and know where to find them!

Disclaimer: I do not work for LinkedIn nor have I been approached by the social media giant or its new parent organization, Microsoft, to write the following. My perspective is simply that of a communications professional who has successfully used a variety of channels over many years to deliver messages.

Each of the three reasons for which I advocate taking your organization’s LinkedIn profile to the next level is interdependent. On its own, each can be negated justifiably, which is likely why many organizations that should use this tool, do not. Together, the complementary effect offers a well-rounded approach to branding on LinkedIn.

So, here are three solid reasons to use LinkedIn Talent Solutions:

  1. To recruit!

“Thank you, Captain Obvious,” you say? Well, smaller organizations may not need a recruitment tool for a variety of reasons, all of which are valid. This brings me to my second point.

  1. PR!

It would be impractical for most organizations to use every social media platform in existence, but most can and should use LinkedIn to build and maintain their brand. Consider LinkedIn users: professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, prospective clients, employee candidates, vendors—all aspects of B2B. This is the audience before which you want your brand. Potential impressions are invaluable, justifying the CPM. The ROI might not be immediate, but like any Public Relations effort, we are looking at the long game, which leads to my third point.

  1. Your competition is using it!

‘Nuff said. Why give the playing field to organizations that could potentially render yours non-existent?

Sometimes the engagement factor is a matter of perception, which simply requires being visible. With the recent Microsoft acquisition, this might be an ideal time to up your LinkedIn game. Perspective about the recent acquisition from Leo Polovets, a former employee of both, affirms the need to have an active presence on LinkedIn.
