3 things you don’t want to miss at #CUNAGAC 2021!

Once again, it’s time for CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference! As we go virtual for the 2021 version of the CUNA GAC, things will definitely be a little bit different than years past, but as always it should be an exciting and informative experience. If you’re pumped and ready to get started, here are 3 things you should be excited for before emcee Antonio Neves kicks off #CUNAGAC at 11 AM Central…

Great speakers: One thing we all love about GAC is the many great speakers we get to hear from year-in and year-out. Even though we’re not in D.C. together this year, the speaker lineup won’t disappoint. Retired Lt. General H.R. McMaster will kick things off with the first keynote address on Tuesday. In the second session (and CUNA General Meeting) Chris Christie and Rahm Emanuel will “discuss the issues driving Washington and how they’ll affect the people and communities credit unions serve, especially as the country continues to address the health and economic ramifications of the pandemic.” On Wednesday, viewers will hear from Physician and Former FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb as well as Journalist Soledad O’Brien. The final session will be the ED (Filene) Talk with Author and Speaker Kevin Carroll. Click here to check out the speaker schedule.

Tons of options and hardly any walking: One of the great things about going virtual is that you can attend as many sessions as you’d like, without having to worry about your feet hurting at the end of the day. Sounds like a win to me. But seriously, we’re all used to the many breakout options we get at a typical GAC, but who would have thought we’d have 10 breakout options to choose from each day? Everything from leadership to regulatory compliance is covered and you can check out your options by clicking here.

We still get to party: This year, The National Credit Union Foundation Celebration is in place of the annual Wegner Awards and “will provide an opportunity to catch up with some of our favorite industry pioneers & past Wegner Award winners,” including past winners Maurice R. Smith, Diana R. Dykstra, Maria Martinez, and more! The Foundation Celebration starts at 5:30 CT, click here for more information. And if you want to get in the party mood beforehand, check out CO-OP ROCKS GAC with a live performance from Emmy and Tony winner Kristin Chenowith at 4:30 CT!
