30-plus young CU professionals participate in advocacy training

More than 30 young credit union professionals talk the ins and outs of advocacy at Credit Union House Sept. 24, CUNA's second young professionals' advocacy training session of the fall.

Thirty-one young credit union professionals started their week in Washington, D.C. Monday hearing firsthand about the importance of credit union advocacy. CUNA hosted the second young professional advocacy training session of the year at Credit Union House Monday, following the session earlier this month.

“This is our opportunity to connect with these young professionals, work with them face-to-face on how to become better credit unions advocates and to help bring their credit union into the advocacy arena,” said Richard Gose, CUNA’s chief political officer. “We’re always excited to welcome these young professionals into town, as CUNA staff learns from their insights and experiences as well.”

Monday’s agenda included:

  • A look at what role credit union staff and volunteers play in credit union advocacy;
  • An overview of CUNA’s political and grassroots programs;
