31 defense credit unions named in Forbes Best-In-State Credit Union list

Forbes recently released their 2020 Best-In-State Credit Union list. DCUC is proud to share that of the 188 credit unions recognized for their superior service, 31 are defense credit unions who serve the U.S. Armed Services and their communities around the world. This number is especially impressive as defense credit unions only make up about 3% of the more than 5,200 credit unions in our nation.

“Credit Unions have always been appealing because they are member-owned nonprofits that historically offer lower interest rates and higher saving rates and put their members first,” stated DCUC President/CEO Tony Hernandez. “Seeing defense credit unions as such a large part of this best-of list shows just how much emphasis our member credit unions put on serving their communities, both military and civilian.”

Credit unions were selected by surveying 25,000 member customers around the United States. According to their release article, “financial institutions were scored on overall recommendations and satisfaction, as well as five subdimensions (trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services, and financial advice).”
