36th Children’s Miracle Network Telethon raises a record $360,031!

The 36th annual Children’s Miracle Network Telethon raised a record-breaking $360,031.26 to benefit equipment, programs, and research at Penn State Children’s Hospital. The event, which was rescheduled from June due to COVID-19, aired Aug. 31 – Sept. 3 on WGAL8.

“We are incredibly humbled by this community’s continuous generosity,” said Danielle Sunday, director of Children’s Miracle Network. “The telethon looked a bit different this year because our kids and families had to participate virtually, but the goal was still the same – to save kids’ lives and give local sick and injured children the #GiftofGrowingUp. Kids can’t wait for COVID-19 to be over. They continue to need our children’s hospital now, and we are so grateful our community supports their medical journeys. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible crew at WGAL8 and all of the event’s donors and sponsors.”

Gifts to the telethon were raised through a pre-event mailing, online donations, and sponsors including Highmark, The Hershey Company, The Giant Company, Turkey Hill, Geico, Shollenberger Januzzi and Wolfe, PSECU, and Central PA Credit Unions.
