4 unusual ways to make some side cash on the weekends

Everyone could use some extra dough from time to time. You may not want to be a waiter or get a retail job, and garage sales can be a lot of work. If you want to make some weekend cash and babysitting isn’t your thing, here a few ‘outside-the-box’ ways you can make some extra money.

Tutor

Okay I know what you’re thinking. You hate math. That’s ok. Tutoring isn’t all about boring school subjects. Sure, it can be. If you’re good at math, history, or grammar, maybe that’s a good option for you. But if traditional subjects aren’t you’re thing, consider something else. I’ve never tutored, but if I ever decided to, I’d teach drums or be a technology tutor. There are plenty of people out there that struggle in today’s digital world. Find something you’re good at and teach it to someone else.

Airbnb

Travel a lot? Whether you’re often gone for work or just visiting friends and family, if there are times you’re not using your residence, let someone else stay at your place. You can make good money and you’ll basically get a free house sitter.

Drive

I love to drive. I also love my car. Driving for Uber or Lyft is easy and you’ll only have to work when you want to. Brew a bunch of coffee, put on your favorite podcast, and help some strangers get safely from Point A to Point B.

Notary Public

This one may take a bit more time to set up, but it’s good money and something you can do during off hours in your spare time. A typical Notary applicant will qualify if they’re 18 years old, a legal resident of the state they’re applying in, and don’t have a criminal record.
