5 things you should spend money on
When you’re on a budget, you tend to be on the frugal side. But there are some things that are worth spending a little extra on. Whether it’s due to awesomeness or the potential to save in the long run, here are five things you should spend money on now.
Lasik surgery: To everyone out there with perfect vision, I’m definitely jealous. As a wearer of contacts/glasses since a young age, I’ve reached the point where I’m ready to start shopping for a deal on Lasik. If you’ve ever woken up in the middle of the night after hearing a noise, you know how annoying it is to have to find your glasses before you can start investigating. On top of that, factor in the price of a yearly optical exam and the fact that contact lenses cost over 6 bucks a piece and you might start agreeing with me that it’s time to think about surgery.
High quality knives: I would have never understood the value of nice kitchen knives until the first time I prepared a meal with some. Ever tried cutting a steak with a cheap steak knife? I’m sure you have and it’s awful. Once you’ve prepared food with high-quality German steel, there’s really no going back.
Fancy toothbrush: Even if you consistently brush your teeth at least twice a day, you won’t believe how clean your mouth can feel by switching from a manual to an electric toothbrush. Every time you brush, you’ll feel like you just left the dentist and your dentist will be a lot happier when you have to see him as well.
HD projector: We all love to entertain and watch the big game, so why spend thousands on a huge TV when you can get a bigger projection for a fraction of the price! Nothing like watching your favorite movies and sportsball teams in 120” of HD.
A standing desk: If you sit behind a desk all day, you know how hard it is to stay active from 9 to 5. A standing desk allows you keep working when you feel like you need to get on your feet. With programmable settings and an electric motor, a lot of standing desks can adjust with the simple push of a button.
