6 last-minute Halloween costume ideas that won’t break your budget

Halloween is tomorrow! You may not be having the same experience this year as you usually would, but it doesn’t mean you can’t dress up! If you’re in need of a costume idea that won’t strangle your wallet and will still be awesome, here are six ideas you can run with…

Joe Exotic: I feel like mullet wigs peaked years ago, so hopefully you can find one at a costume shop or someone you know already has one from years past. Add in a fake horseshoe mustache and a stuffed tiger, and you’re ready to become the Tiger King.

Any character from The Office: The Office must be the most popular show to “watch” while you’re doing other things, because (don’t get me wrong I love the show) that’s the only reason I can think of that several people I know will watch the entire series and then immediately start back over at the beginning. Anyway, this should be fairly easy to pull off. For the guys on the show, just wear a suit and then add in extras for individual characters. Wear a weird yellowish-brown shirt if you want to be Dwight, carry an empty pot of chili if you want to be Kevin, and so on. Oh and if you’re dressing as Angela, just carry a cat around.

Ruth Bader Ginsberg: RBG is destined to be a super popular costume this year, and it should be a super easy one to pull off. Wear some old glasses (without the lenses unless they’re yours), grab a black robe and put some white lace around the neck. Simple as that.

The Mandalorian: This one might not seem simple, but if you’ve got some cardboard, some spray paint, and a little bit of artistic talent, you can probably make it happen. If you’ve got a baby (insert Werner Herzog voice) and some sewing skills, you can probably make a pretty sweet “The Child” aka “Baby Yoda” costume to go along with it. By the way, for all the Star Wars/Mandalorian fans out there, season 2 arrives on Disney+ today!

Charlie Brown: If you really want to phone it in this year (and still be a recognizable character), then Charlie Brown is your man. All you need is a yellow t-shirt and either some black spray paint or a sharpie to make that weird zig-zag shape across the bottom.

Clark Kent: A Superman costume could possibly get expensive, but Superman’s alter ego isn’t nearly as pricey. All you need is a Superman t-shirt to wear underneath a dress shirt, and you’re ready to be almost ready to save the day.
