Last week, several news outlets proclaimedNovember as the most active month for card fraudsters. As the bad guys step up their games, credit and debit card issuers are advised to do the same.
With the holiday shopping season upon us, here are just a few of the ways credit unions and community banks can protect themselves and their cardholders from holiday fraud:
Start simple: Update and upgrade your lines of communication. Make sure the contact information you have on file for your cardholders is current.
Lock it back down: When you increase daily purchase limits or the number of transactions allowed in a 24-hour cycle, define your timeline and include the date when limits and restrictions will return to normal.
