AmFirst expands corporate campus with new building acquisition in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, AL (March 2, 2026) |

AmFirst, one of Alabama’s largest credit unions, announced  the acquisition of a newly renovated office building at 110 12th St. N.—just three blocks from its longstanding  corporate headquarters at 1200 4th Ave. N. The purchase marks another significant step in AmFirst’s continued  growth and commitment to Birmingham.

The 48,000-square-foot building, formerly occupied by Pack Health, will enable AmFirst to expand its footprint  and meet the increased needs of its growing membership. With its proximity to the current headquarters, the new  space allows AmFirst to grow while maintaining its close- knit corporate culture.

“We’re thrilled to continue our investment in Birmingham, the city that has been home to our headquarters for  more than 45 years,” said Kevin Morris, President and CEO of AmFirst. “As we approach our ninetieth anniversary  this year, this expansion is about equipping our staff with the resources they need to serve our members even  better, while also providing new opportunities for community partnerships and events.”

Plans for the new AmFirst campus addition call for a modern, collaborative extension of our corporate office.  The envisioned space will feature a variety of work areas and amenities designed to promote teamwork,  connectivity, and employee well-being. From flexible meeting spaces to comfortable break areas and wellness focused features, the new campus aims to create an environment where staff can thrive and continue providing  exceptional service to our members.

AmFirst’s headquarters, located on 4th Ave. N., since 1980 and expanded in 2019, is currently at capacity. The  acquisition supports AmFirst’s mission of service and ensures continued growth in downtown Birmingham.

The building at 110 12th St. N. holds a special place in Birmingham’s innovation ecosystem. Since the 1990s, it  has served as a city-supported entrepreneurial incubator, later housing UAB’s Office for the Advancement of  Developing Industries and providing a launchpad for startups and small businesses.

After these programs moved to Innovation Depot in 2007, the building became home to engineering and  consulting firms and, more recently, to Pack Health, which Quest Diagnostics acquired in 2022. Community  members have long associated the site with growth, collaboration, and organizations working to improve the  region’s health and business climate.

According to Rima Patel, General Counsel of CS Equities LLC, the building’s former owner, “110 12th Street North  has long been a place where Birmingham organizations have grown and served the community. We’re pleased  to see the building become part of AmFirst’s expanding campus and look forward to the positive impact it will  continue to have under their leadership.”

Among the building’s standout features is a soundstage that will support AmFirst’s expanding marketing and  communications initiatives, providing the team with new opportunities to connect with members and share their  stories. The studio suite includes a cyclorama wall, voice booth, and green room.

“AmFirst’s ongoing investment in the Switch District of downtown Birmingham reflects the momentum and  optimism we see across our city,” said David Fleming, President and CEO of REV Birmingham. “Their commitment  to growth is a great example of how downtown Birmingham is a premier location for growing companies and how  local organizations are helping shape the future of our community.”

Details about future renovations and the official move-in timeline will be shared in the coming months.
