FRESNO, CA (April 24, 2026) |
Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) has been recognized by the Fresno Compact with the 2026 Business-Education Partnership Award, honoring decades of investment in students, educators, and schools across the central San Joaquin Valley.
The award was presented at the Fresno Compact’s 29th Annual Business-Education Shareholders’ Luncheon on April 23. Each year, the organization recognizes local businesses that have built sustained partnerships with schools to help students succeed.
“What stands out about EECU is that they don’t just support education, they’re part of it,” said Mike Snell, vice president of the Fresno Compact Board of Directors. “You see their impact in classrooms, student programs, and the opportunities they help create. They’ve built real relationships with schools across the Valley that make a lasting difference.”
EECU’s work spans free financial wellness education, direct support for students, and long-standing partnerships with school districts and colleges throughout the region. From delivering thousands of hours of free financial education to providing student grants and operating a student-run branch at Clovis West High School, the credit union continues to invest in opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.
“This recognition means a lot because education is where we started and it’s still at the heart of what we do,” said Elizabeth J. Dooley, EECU president and CEO. “Whether we’re in a classroom, partnering with a school, or helping a student take their next step, it’s all about creating opportunities. We’re proud to be part of that work in the communities we serve.”
In 2026, EECU will also mark a milestone in its direct support of members pursuing higher education, surpassing more than $2 million in student grants awarded since the launch of its Student Grant Program in 2003.
