Unitus launches new international remittance service “Movi” to expand access for members supporting loved ones abroad

Unitus Community Credit Union has launched Movi, a new  international remittance service, to give members a more accessible, affordable way to support  family and loved ones across borders. As part of that commitment, Unitus is waiving fees on  eligible cross-border transfers through Aug. 31, 2026.

Unitus is the first credit union offering Movi.

Movi is available through Unitus Digital Banking on desktop and mobile, allowing members to  initiate transfers through the same channels they already use for everyday banking. 

Recipients can receive funds in several ways: 

  • Transfer to a bank account 
  • Transfer to a debit card  
  • Cash pickup 

“At Unitus, we’re focused on making financial services more accessible and more meaningful for  the people we serve,” said Steven Stapp, CEO of Unitus Community Credit Union. “Movi helps  members support loved ones abroad with confidence, while reflecting our mission to inspire hope,  remove barriers and be a trusted partner through life’s defining moments.” 

Since Movi’s launch, the most common destination countries have been Mexico, Brazil, the  Philippines, Guatemala, Costa Rica and the United Kingdom. Members can send funds to recipients  in more than 50 countries. 

The promotional fee waiver applies to eligible transfers completed through Aug. 31, 2026.
