York, PA (July 6, 2026) |
On Friday, May 29, 2026, the FirstCap Gives Back Foundation awarded a total of $10,000 in grants to five York County non-profit organizations during its inaugural grant cycle, furthering its commitment to strengthening the communities served by First Capital Federal Credit Union.
The FirstCap Gives Back Foundation and First Capital team members visited each recipient on May 29 to personally present grant checks to the organizations. The five grant recipients are: York Habitat for Humanity, 18 South Youth Center, The Arc of York and Adams Counties, Bell Socialization Services, Inc., and Prospect Hill Cemetery & Cremation Gardens.
The grants were awarded through a competitive application process. Organizations submitted grant proposals outlining projects and initiatives that align with the Foundation's mission, and the FirstCap Gives Back Foundation Board of Directors selected the recipients and determined the funding amounts.
"The FirstCap Gives Back Foundation was created to make a meaningful investment in the communities we serve, and these grants are a reflection of that commitment," said Tara Minetos, Board Chair of the FirstCap Gives Back Foundation. "Each of these organizations is making a lasting difference in York County, and we're proud to support their important work. We look forward to continuing this impact through future grant opportunities."
This marks the first of two grant cycles the Foundation will hold in 2026. A second round of grants is scheduled to be awarded in November, providing additional funding opportunities for local non-profit organizations.
