Evergreen Credit Union Goals for Good program raises over $11,000 for ending hunger in Maine

Evergreen Credit Union Partnership with Maine Mariners Hockey and Verrill Law Donates $75 per goal

Southern Maine, ME (July 6, 2026) |

Evergreen Credit Union, the Maine Mariners, and Verrill Law raised $11,025 via their collaborative Goals for Food campaign, which will help provide over 22,000 meals to Mainers in need.

During the Maine Mariners 2025-2026 season, Evergreen Credit Union teamed up with the Mariners and Verrill Law to donate a total of $75 for every goal scored on home ice. All proceeds benefit the Maine Credit Unions Campaign for Ending Hunger in Maine, which supports organizations that fight food insecurity in the state. Each goal helps prepare as many as 150 meals for Mainers.

In total, the three organizations raised $11,025 for the Campaign for Ending Hunger in Maine. “This campaign is one of our favorite unique ways to give back to the communities we serve,” said Jason Lindstrom, Evergreen’s President and CEO. “Our partnership with the Mariners has always been collaborative, and Goals for Food is only making it stronger. We couldn’t do it without the support from the Mariners.”

With Maine’s hunger crisis on the rise, Mariners staff and players are emphasizing the importance of helping the community they represent. “The Goals for Food campaign has a meaningful impact on our staff and players, fostering a deeper sense of purpose and pride every time we hit the ice knowing each goal helps fight hunger in our community,” said Jordan Place, Director of Global Partnerships at the Maine Mariners. “It goes to show how teamwork and community collaboration can create a lasting impact across Maine.”

The Goals for Food campaign is currently accepting additional corporate partners for the 2026-2027 season. For more information, please visit https://www.campaignforendinghunger.org/
