Texell Credit Union announces the promotion of Richard Silvers to Chief Technology Officer. Silvers first joined Texell in 2018, and he has transformed Texell’s technology capabilities, security posture, and innovative agility by leading the Information Technology and Software Development departments.
“We’re excited to promote Richard from Vice President, Technology Innovations to his new role as Chief Technology Officer,” said Tony Hale, President and CEO of Texell. “He will continue to lead our overall technology strategy, oversee cybersecurity and information systems, guide software and AI initiatives, and ensure our technology investments continue to support our mission and long-term strategic goals,” Hale continued.
Before joining Texell, Silvers served as Director of Technical Operations for a multinational corporation, where he led enterprise infrastructure and technology operations across multiple countries. He brought that same operational discipline to Texell, where, as Vice President, Technology Innovations, he oversaw the credit union's Information Technology and Software Development teams. During his tenure at Texell he has guided a wide range of member-focused initiatives, from expanded ATM services to the development of an in-house member relationship platform, alongside significant investment in the credit union's core infrastructure and security. Silvers has called Central Texas home for 13 years, where he lives with his wife and children.
“I'm excited for this new opportunity,” said Silvers. “Central Texas has been our home for 13 years — it's where my wife and I are raising our family, and it's a community we're proud to be part of. Our members trust us with more than their money; they trust us with their future. I take that responsibility seriously, and I'm honored to help lead Texell's technology forward in a way that keeps our members at the center of everything we build.”
