New branch in Herriman marks Chartway’s return to the growing Utah community

Grand opening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Make-A-Wish Utah Promise Hero Wish Proclamation, and a $5K donation to Chartway Promise Foundation

Herriman, UT (July 21, 2026) |

Chartway Credit Union celebrated its return to Herriman, Utah with the grand opening of its new Herriman branch bringing together Chartway’s members, team leaders, community partners, and local, regional, and state dignitaries for a morning that highlighted the credit union’s investment in one of Utah’s growing communities. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a Wish Proclamation for a medically fragile child whom we call a Promise Hero in partnership with Make-A-Wish Utah, and a $5,000 check presentation to Chartway Credit Union’s Chartway Promise Foundation from NewGround, the design-build contractor for the new branch.

The new Herriman branch, located at 5262 W Denali Park Drive, is the second new Chartway location opened in 2026 and is part of Chartway’s multi-year, multi-million-dollar branch expansion and renovation initiative across Texas, Utah, and Virginia. Designed to give members convenient access to Chartway’s financial solutions and personalized service, the new branch features a welcoming modern space where members can connect with team members and receive guidance tailored to their financial goals.

“Herriman is a thriving and rapidly growing community, and Chartway is proud to meet our members where they are,” said Brian Schools, president and CEO of Chartway Credit Union. “This new branch reflects our commitment to investing in our communities while making it easier for members to access the personalized guidance, financial solutions, and local support they need to thrive.”

Local and regional leaders, including Herriman Mayor Lorin Palmer and South Valley Chamber President and CEO Jay Francis, reinforced the impact of Chartway’s investment in the Herriman area and the importance of continued partnership in supporting the city’s growth and development.

"We're excited to welcome Chartway Credit Union back to Herriman,” said Mayor Palmer. “Their return is another sign of the confidence businesses have in our community and the opportunities they see here. We appreciate their investment in our city and look forward to the positive impact they'll have on our residents, businesses, and community for years to come."

“The South Valley Chamber is excited to welcome Chartway Credit Union to Herriman and celebrate the opening of its newest branch,” said Francis. “We look forward to working together as partners in serving the community and supporting the businesses and families who call this area home. Herriman and the south valley continue to experience remarkable growth, creating new opportunities for employment, economic development, and community investment. We are thrilled to have Chartway Credit Union as part of that exciting future.”

Before the ribbon-cutting, Chartway Promise Foundation hosted a Wish Proclamation Ceremony for Damien, a 17-year-old local teen living with a neuromuscular disorder. Surrounded by his family and supporters, Damien learned that his wish to visit the Dragonman’s military museum in Colorado Springs, Colo., will soon become a reality through the foundation’s partnership with Make-A-Wish Utah.

"I've been interested in history my whole life, especially military history, because of my grandpa’s military service,” said Damien. “I can't wait to see and learn about the museum’s exhibits up close. And I'd like to thank Chartway Promise Foundation and Make-A-Wish Utah for making wishes like mine come true!"

"Celebrating Damien and his family during this grand opening made the day even more meaningful," said Riordan. "Chartway Promise Foundation along with our valued partners, creates memorable experiences that bring joy, hope, and smiles to medically fragile children and their families. Moments like these demonstrate the lasting impact our credit union makes when we support our partners and community."

During the grand opening ceremony, NewGround presented a $5,000 donation to the Chartway Promise Foundation. The contribution will help the Foundation continue providing memorable experiences, like the one Damien received, to even more medically fragile children and their families in the communities it serves.

The celebration concluded with an official ribbon-cutting and community open house, giving guests the opportunity to tour the new branch and connect with Chartway leaders and team members.
