LEVERAGE names Lisa Burroughs senior vice president for strategy and business operations

BIRMINGHAM, AL & TALLAHASSEE, FL (December 11, 2013) --  LEVERAGE, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and Affiliates (LSCU) Service Corporation, announces the hiring of Lisa Burroughs as its new senior vice president of strategy and business operations. Burroughs has spent the vast majority of her career working in credit unions. Over those 20 years, she has served as vice president of marketing, president and chief executive officer, as well as chief operations officer for credit unions ranging from $60 million to $1.3 billion in assets.

“Her vast leadership experience at credit unions of all sizes will help us understand the priorities and needs of the variety of credit unions we serve,” said LEVERAGE President/CEO Patrick La Pine. “Additionally, she will be instrumental in developing and implementing a more streamlined business process at LEVERAGE and her experience with building and sustaining growth will be invaluable as LEVERAGE moves forward.”

Prior to coming to LEVERAGE, Burroughs was the chief operations officer at the $1.3B Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union, where she spent nearly 13 years. In her time there, she worked to build and grow a sales culture that facilitated the growth and success of the credit union. Prior to Michigan Schools and Government, Burroughs led Parkside Credit Union as its president/CEO. At Parkside, she worked with the board of directors and staff to revitalize the credit union to ensure long term survival for its members.

Burroughs was awarded a Master of Business Administration degree from Central Michigan. She is a Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE), while also being a Certified Financial Services Professional (CFSP), Certified Human Resources Professional, Certified Marketing Professional, and a Certified Business Development Sales Trainer. She also holds the Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation through CUES and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through HRCI.

Burroughs will work out of the Tallahassee office and begins her duties at LEVERAGE on Dec. 2.
