BEAR, DE (February 7, 2014) -- Community Powered Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that it held its 52nd Annual Meeting on the evening of January 31, 2014. The event, which took place at Deerfield Public Golf & Grille in Newark, was a celebration of the credit union’s past and a chance to discuss plans for its continued success.
Guest Speaker Pat Mahaney, President and CEO of the Delaware Credit Union League, spoke to the 300+ attendees about current economic conditions. He also spoke about Don’t Tax My Credit Union, a national campaign dedicated to preserving financial choice for American consumers and ensuring that the country’s 96 million credit union members are not burdened by higher taxes. Forms in support of the campaign were on hand for attendees to sign, with signed forms to be distributed to the Delaware congressmen.
Other speakers at the meeting included John Watterson, Chairman of Community Powered; Anthony Hinds, General Manager and CEO; Madeline Chubbs, Secretary; and Todd Roselle, Treasurer. The speakers lauded the credit union’s successes over the past year, highlighting the opening of its new Bear office, which has made services more accessible to members.
In addition to the speeches, attendees enjoyed a full dinner service and the chance to mingle with fellow credit union members. Music and door prizes rounded out an enjoyable evening.
First chartered in 1962 to serve employees of the Delmarva Power & Light Company, Community Powered has expanded in the years since its inception to offer services to all residents, employees, and businesses in New Castle County.
