Leominster Credit Union donates books to local organizations

LEOMINSTER, MA (May 21, 2014) -- For the fourteenth consecutive year, Leominster Credit Union was pleased to participate in Children’s Book Month, an annual event sponsored by the Massachusetts Credit Union League.

During the month of April, LCU accepted donations of unused and gently-used children’s books.

LCU Members and employees collected over 400 books, which were donated to various organizations including, The Reading Aloud Challenge, Girls, Inc., The Storymobile which is sponsored by the Leominster Community Coalition, and the Allencrest Community Center.

Sharing responsibilities for organizing LCU’s collection efforts were Kathy Hurley, Human Resources Administrator, and Nancy Daigle, Receptionist.

Since its inception, Children’s Book Month has been sponsored by the Massachusetts Credit Union League, the oldest continually operating trade group in the United States. The League supports its credit union members across the state in many ways, including philanthropic programs like Children’s Book Month.
