TOPEKA, KS (June 18, 2014) -- When Credit Unions for Kids and the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) recently partnered to enhance the financial education opportunities for patients and families at every Children's Miracle Network (CMN) hospital in the U.S., the Topeka Credit Union Foundation immediately jumped on board.
Biz Kid$ is the Emmy Award winning and credit union funded public television series that teaches kids about money management and entrepreneurship, and now, St. Francis Health Center, the Topeka CMN hospital, will have two box sets of Biz Kid$ DVDs for patients and families to enjoy. Making the presentation today to Kara White, CMN Coordinator and Wendy Clark, Pediatric RN at St. Francis on behalf of the Topeka Credit Union Foundation were Greg Winkler, CEO of Educational Credit Union; Jessica Somers, Vice President of Business Development at Envista Credit Union; Valerie Taylor, Vice President of Business Development at Quest Credit Union; and Becky Harwick, TCUF Fund Representative.
The Topeka Credit Union Foundation was formed in 2004 by six local credit unions “to support organizations conducting philanthropic or charitable purposes for the greater good of our communities." Since then more than $135,000 has been contributed to numerous organizations primarily in the Topeka Community. Today, support for the foundation is provided by Educational Credit Union, Envista Credit Union, Kansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Credit Union, New Century Credit Union and Quest Credit Union.
