(October 9, 2014) -- Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union, in partnership with Northwoods Mall, hosted a free community shred event on Saturday, October 4th. From 7:45 a.m. to 12 noon, 230 people participated and shredded over 11,600 lbs. of paper. This event was designed to promote fraud awareness and provide the community with a fast, convenient way to shred old bills, account information and other documents with personal information that could be risk factors for identity theft.

Through this event we were able to encompass the credit union philosophy, People Helping People and provide a safe way to dispose of paper documents and keep personal information out of the hands of dishonest people.”
