OnApproach announces Credit Union Big Data/Analytics Conference

PLYMOUTH, MN (October 23, 2014) – OnApproach (www.onapproach.com), the leading provider of reporting and analytics solutions for credit unions, is pleased to announce that they are hosting the first ever Credit Union Big Data/Analytics Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, December 9th -11th, 2014.

Big Data/Analytics is quickly becoming a key strategic issue for credit unions as they look for ways to maintain and improve their relationships with their members through information. Companies like Amazon have effectively used data to get their customers to love them and those customers are looking for that same level of service in all aspects of their daily lives. Recently, Navy Federal Credit Union acknowledged this trend with their support for Apple Pay.

“By combining Apple’s history of innovation with Navy Federal’s unique military membership, Apple Pay has the ability to make mobile payments more accessible for military families who rely on mobile technology in their daily lives.”

The shift to mobile platforms is driving the need for a Big Data/Analytics solution as credit unions work to figure out how to deal with (1) new channels (2) more data and (3) more variety of data.

We are pleased to announce that financial technology service expert, John Best, and financial services data scientist, Dr. Joe Breeden, PhD will be speaking during the conference.  John is known for challenging credit unions to “think outside the box” by leveraging his lofty, yet proven, financial technology “innovativeness” for credit unions nationwide. Recently joining CU Wallet, Best aims to revolutionize the industry with such services as mobile and mobile payments. Dr. Breeden is a published author on the subject of retail lending analytics and is currently a partner in the Deep Future Analytics CUSO that is focused on predictive analytics relating to loans. He has worldwide experience in creating predictive models which include the 2001 Global Recession and 2007-2009 US Mortgage Crisis and Global Financial Crisis.

OnApproach is fully committed to providing credit unions with the most robust and progressive Big Data/Analytics solution.  As a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO), OnApproach seeks to leverage the collaborative nature of the credit union industry by providing a venue where credit unions can collectively gain knowledge and insight into the Big Data/Analytics trend, discuss guidelines for shared reporting and analytic applications and large, predictive analytic data pools, and share best practices.

This conference will be organized into two tracks, one for Management and one for Operations. There will be several general, all attendee, sessions along with smaller breakout sessions organized by track. Furthermore, while gathered together OnApproach intends to use this time for credit unions to share ideas, practices, challenges, successes and visions among each other to gain better insights on how to optimize their business to ensure future success.
