MADISON, WI (January 15, 2015) -- CUNA announced today that CUNA Business Lending Certification Institute will take place July 20-24, 2015, in Madison, WI. Registration and institute details can be found at training.cuna.org/blci.
“CUNA Business Lending Certification Institute is the leading training event for credit union business lenders,” says Kathy Smith, Instructional Design Manager at CUNA. “Institute attendees spend a week immersed in credit union-specific training, preparing them to meet the lending needs of their members and their credit unions.”
Presented in partnership with University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business, this institute brings in business lending experts to lead sessions, network, review case studies and address real life business scenarios. At the end of the institute, lenders will be equipped to stimulate their communities by making loans to up-and-coming local businesses.
CUNA Business Lending Certification Institute is offered in three parts:
- Fundamentals – Year 1: Attendees develop a solid foundation for their business awareness and leave with a sophisticated understanding of the components involved in business lending services.
- Credit Analysis – Year 2: Attendees gain an intimate understanding of the challenges business members face in making debt service payments and other financial responsibilities.
- Advanced Credit Analysis – Year 3: Advanced attendees receive practical, hands-on experience with credit analysis and return to their credit unions with the skills to serve even the most complex business member portfolio.
Attendees who complete all three years of the institute will have the opportunity to earn their Credit Union Business Lending Professional (CUBLP) designation. Earning the designation separates designees from their peers and distinguishes them as the go-to professional for all business lending questions at their credit union. To earn the designation, attendees must attend all three years of the institute and pass an exam at the end of each year.
Plus, attendees can come early and attend the Introduction to the Credit Analysis Process pre-conference event.
