GTE Financial names Chip Coberly as vice president of member sales

TAMPA, FL (July 7, 2015) – GTE Financial, one of Florida’s largest credit unions, has named Max “Chip” Coberly as vice president of member sales, where he will oversee multiple operations to include GTE’s 22 Community Financial Centers; Credit Union Services LLC, GTE’s insurance Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO); Investment Services; Community Partners; and its financial education efforts.

Coberly brings more than 20 years of experience in the finance industry, serving as a board member and vice president for AAA Employees Federal Credit Union in Heathrow, Fla. before serving on GTE’s supervisory committee for six years. Coberly also served two and a half years as a GTE board director, with one year on the executive committee as secretary and treasurer, before becoming vice president of GTE Insurance and Investment Services, a position he held for three years.

Coberly has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Stetson University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He currently serves as a board director and member of the finance committee for the Glazer Children’s Museum.
