Member Driven Technologies hosts fifth annual client conference

Credit union professionals network, attend educational sessions and interact with technology partners at MDT Connect 2018

Member Driven Technologies (MDT), a CUSO providing credit unions with a secure, private cloud alternative for core banking and IT needs, hosted its fifth annual client conference last week, yielding record attendance with approximately 150 credit union professionals spanning executives, lending, IT, compliance, member experience and digital, representing more than 60 credit unions. More than 20 vendors and approximately 90 MDT employees were also in attendance.

The annual event, held May 21-24, 2018 in Southfield, Michigan, provides an opportunity for MDT clients to collaborate with peers, share best practices and discuss trends and issues currently impacting the credit union space. MDT Connect 2018 featured about 40 educational and training sessions, allowing credit unions to learn more about the technologies that support their institutions.

Deb Dietz, chief executive officer of Family Financial Credit Union, has been attending MDT’s client conference for several years. She explained, “MDT’s annual Connect conference provides a valuable opportunity for credit union leaders to network and share ideas with one another. Every year at this event, I’ve forged strong connections with peers, vendors and additional MDT employees. This conference is another example of how MDT goes above and beyond to connect with and best serve its credit union clients.”

Highlights from MDT Connect 2018 include a panel discussion with MDT clients about the member experience and its implications in today’s evolving landscape. Erin Coleman of the Filene Research Institute presented a keynote about credit unions in 2025 and how institutions can remain relevant in the digital future. Some additional themes and areas of focus included security, payments, digital banking and big data.

Larry Nichols, president and chief executive officer of MDT, added, “MDT Connect provides a unique forum for credit unions, technology vendors and employees to come together and learn from each other’s different perspectives and experiences. We view this conference not only as an opportunity to share our technology roadmap and capabilities with clients, but also to gather feedback and respond to their needs.”

MDT will host its third annual CEO Forum July 10-12, 2018. At this event, credit union CEOs gather for high level, strategic discussions about the industry with MDT’s executive team and also executives from Symitar, whose core processing platform is hosted by MDT.
