Financial Center First CU announces scholarship program

Financial Center First Credit Union is proud to announce a college scholarship program available to its members in 2019. In the program’s first year, the Credit Union will award $3,500 to three members attending an accredited college or university in the fall of 2019. The application deadline is April 1, 2019. Eligibility guidelines and how to apply can be found at fcfcu.com/scholarship.

“Financial Center is known for its financial literacy program for youth and adults, and in 2019, we want to do something more,” said James Davidson, Financial Center’s Director of Financial Literacy. “We have started a scholarship program to carry our passion for education to members wanting to improve their lives by attending college.”

Funds for the scholarships were raised through Financial Center’s 2018 charity golf outing. The Credit Union looks to build upon award funds over time through various fundraisers with its members, employees and vendors.

Financial Center is a five-time national recipient of the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) DesJardin Adult Financial Literacy Award and teaches more than 4,000 community members annually on financial topics through seminars, an online platform, 1:1 financial counseling, and community events.
