Bay Federal Credit Union has been recognized as a winner of the 2019 Bay Area Best Places to Work, an awards program presented by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal. This is the fifth straight year the credit union has been chosen.
Select employers from the Bay Area were named winners of the awards program, held on April 18. These winning organizations were honored for having created exceptional workplaces that their employees value highly.
Award applicants were evaluated and ranked in five categories, which were based on the number of Bay Area employees. The ranking found companies in the region whose employees rate them as the highest on such values as fun, collaborative culture, solid compensation and benefits offerings, and other amenities, as well as management practices.
“The award-winning positive culture of Bay Federal Credit Union is attributed to the 220 talented, local employees,” President and CEO Carrie Birkhofer said. “They come to work every day ready and willing to make a difference in the lives of our members and our community—while cheering on and supporting one another.”
Over the past year, Bay Federal rolled out a team-building program to strengthen relationships between employees, restructured its bonus plan to better assist employees throughout the year, and implemented an improvement program to allow ideas for efficiencies and experiences to rise to the top from all corners of the credit union. It also continues to offer competitive benefits, appreciation programs and awards, professional development opportunities, and employee scholarships.
