CASE helps 62 Lansing area businesses get Payroll Protection approval

Credit union successfully navigates federal loan system for members

CASE Credit Union is helping its business members find financial relief by successfully assisting them in applying and receiving approval for the federal Payroll Protection Program.

With the recent congressional approval for an additional influx of funding into the Payroll Protection Program, CASE Credit Union can resume aiding small businesses through the process to secure a loan and receive financial assistance during this difficult time.

The Payroll Protection Program is a U.S. Small Business Administration COVID-19 relief program, and CASE Credit Union is an express lender for the SBA.

Although some larger financial institutions opted not to aid their business clients by choosing not to participate in the program, CASE Credit Union has been considered a success story in helping members navigate their way to a brighter economic outlook through the program. CASE Credit Union has secured more than $3 million in Payroll Protection Program loans and helped save more than 600 jobs in the Greater Lansing region.

“We feel it is not only our business obligation but also our morale obligation to give our struggling business members every opportunity to find stable footing in this time of uncertainty,” said Jeffrey Benson, president and CEO of CASE Credit Union. “Our membership is the backbone to our organization, and we will always fight the good fight for them.”

As part of the safety measures for both employees and members implemented due to the coronavirus pandemic, lobby hours are only available by appointment at the CASE Credit Union branch at 4316 S. Pennsylvania in Lansing. The branch can be reached at (517) 393-7710.
