Kinecta Community Foundation donates $60,000 to support partners impacted by COVID-19

In response to increased need, Kinecta Community Foundation, the charitable entity of Kinecta Federal Credit Union, mobilized to support local organizations impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since March, Kinecta Community Foundation has donated a total of $60,000 to various community organizations. On March 25, the foundation gave $40,000 to local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals to support their respective COVID-19 relief efforts. Funds provide financial aid, food and child-care assistance to financially stressed employees and resources for patients.

“Like many industries, children’s hospitals are facing a crisis. Resources are being diverted to combat COVID-19. Doctors and nurses can’t go home due to health risks to their families. There is a pause on elective surgeries, which have stopped a major source of hospitals’ operating budget. All this while children are still sick and injured and needing care,” said Nick Coleman, Director of Corporate Partnerships at CMN Hospitals. “CMN Hospitals is so proud to partner with organizations like Kinecta Federal Credit Union that understand the importance of giving back, even in such difficult times.”

Additionally, in April, Kinecta Community Foundation gave a total of $20,000 in emergency funds to nonprofit partners Food Finders, Food Bank of Santa Monica, Midnight Mission, Second Harvest Food bank, Thomas House Family Shelter, LA Regional Food Bank, Community’s Child and Warrior Student Food Pantry.
