Summit Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative, has been named a Top Workplace in the Madison area by the Wisconsin State Journal. The annual list honors companies demonstrating excellence in employee engagement and a strong company culture.
“It’s always exciting to be recognized, but the Top Workplace award is especially significant to me because it’s the employees who rate their workplace,” said Summit CEO & President Kim Sponem. “I’m so proud of our almost 700 dedicated, talented, curious, innovative and generous employees who make Summit a great place to work.”
Nominated organizations were judged using a company-wide survey measuring employee engagement. Survey categories include communication and cooperation, development opportunities, leadership and more.
Survey responses were collected by Energage, an independent company specializing in the measurement of employee engagement and analysis of company culture. The nominated organizations with the highest aggregate levels of engagement were categorized by size and named to the Top Workplaces list.
Also recently named one of the best workplaces in the nation in Top Workplaces USA’s inaugural list, Summit is committed to creating a working environment that offers professional development opportunities while promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. Summit is also a three-time winner of the Association for Talent Development’s BEST award, a global award recognizing companies that demonstrate a culture of learning and development. Summit employees enjoy paid volunteer hours, paid time off on birthdays, student loan payback and a floating day off to celebrate an ethnic or religious holiday of their choice.
