New Chalk Your Walk contest brings people outdoors for a creative competition

Starting on May 24, 2021, the RCU Foundation will launch a new contest to promote creative outdoor activity and the upcoming Rock the Riverfront featuring the Charity Classic event.  The Chalk Your Walk contest will take place from May 24 to June 2 with four $50 prizes and heavy bragging rights on the line.

Chalk Your Walk is sponsored by JAMF and challenges people to get outside to draw a classic hopscotch, an elaborate obstacle course, or just some great chalk art in their neighborhoods.  Individuals, families, or groups can get involved and submit their entries for a chance to win.  There are four categories for entries: most artistic, most interactive, most clever, and an overall winner.  One winner in each category will receive a $50 pre-paid VISA along with bragging rights of being the Chalk Your Walk chalk master.  To enter, go to www.rcu.org/Race and click the Enter Here button in the activities section.  Entries should include the words Rock the Riverfront in or near the artwork to increase chances of winning and help spread the word about the event.

Rock the Riverfront featuring the Charity Classic is celebrating 27 years of running and walking to support organizations that make a difference in the communities that Royal Credit Union serves.  Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit three partner charities: The Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls, Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild in Eau Claire, and Northern Star Theatre Company in Rice Lake.  Registration for this virtual event will be open through June 26.  Participants can run or walk the 10K or 2 mile routes and youth can take part in a 1/2 mile course anytime between June 5 and June 28.  Registration details are available at www.rcu.org/Race.
