The bond between Canvas Credit Union and Colorado State University (CSU) just got stronger. As the official credit union of CSU, Canvas partnered with the CSU Alumni Association to introduce a new and exclusive rewards credit card called Rams+. The Rams+ rewards credit card is not only unique for its branded exclusivity but also for the rewards it boasts.
This special card is one of many ways Canvas nurtures its partnership with CSU. In 2018 they entered an agreement to name the prized 727,000 square-foot football stadium – Canvas stadium. Since then Canvas has set more physical roots at CSU as a familiar face on campus with a dedicated branch in the Lory Student Center, multiple Canvas surcharge-free ATMs, and regular financial seminars offered to students, staff, and alumni. Canvas even created a checking account based on CSU students feedback on what they’re looking for with their finances: easier savings. From that feedback the Level Up Checking Account was born, which automatically helps Rams save while they spend, rounding every purchase to the nearest dollar and placing the change into a special savings account.
“Like any relationship, it takes time to figure out what the priorities are on each side and how we can best fit together as we move forward,” shared Kristi Bohlender, the Executive Director of CSU’s Alumni Association. “The Rams+ credit card is definitely the next stage of that blossoming relationship. What we’ve earned in Canvas is a partner who has so many shared priorities, and one of them is customer service and how we treat our affinity groups.”
Being known for their people, Canvas continues to nurture the Northern Colorado community and extend the best and brightest to join the Canvas family to help bring their vision to life. In August 2020 Canvas added Gary Ozzello to the Canvas family as Director of University Relations to further enhance the Canvas-CSU partnership. Since Gary’s arrival, Canvas has been able to engage more fully with the students, faculty, staff, and alumni at CSU. Through specialized programs which offer lower interest rates exclusively to CSU faculty and staff, Canvas has helped 145 CSU employees refinance their homes and an additional 60 purchase homes.

The card is filled with reward possibilities - earning points on everyday purchases toward cash back or travel, gift cards, donations and more. Rams+ cardholders get the following perks:
- Earn 3 points for every dollar spent on gas and groceries, and one boosted category of their choice. Cardholders can personalize their rewards by picking from one boosted category such as travel, restaurants, furniture, and more.
- Earn 3 points when card is used at select CSU vendors (that includes sporting event tickets, concessions, bookstore purchases and more) or when you donate to CSU Foundation.
- Earn 1 point for every dollar spent on all other purchases.
- No annual fee, foreign transaction fees, or balance transfer fees.
- Redeem points for cash back, travel, gift cards, merchandise, charity, or gifting to other point-holders.
- Easy to track and redeem points through Canvas’ online banking or mobile app.
